The Deep 6 AI software found and validated 58 eligible matches in less than 10 minutes. “We must find patients quickly,” says Brusselaers, “to develop cures faster.” Another software program, called Fuzzy Matching, detects patients with undiagnosed symptoms and characteristics, such as cognitive decline or chronic pain. This allows sponsors who want to test new drugs for Alzheimer’s, chronic pain, and other disorders to find symptomatic, but undiagnosed, patients, and to offer these patients the chance to enroll in a trial they did not know about.
